Pick your instrument

Guitar lessons for the songs you want to strum and sing. Piano lessons for kids, and for the grown-up who always meant to. Voice lessons for the singer in the car who wants to sing in the room. Harmonica lessons: his first instrument, and the fastest way into the blues.

Lessons where you are

Three ways to learn, and you can mix them.

  • In your home, anywhere in Miami from Key Biscayne to North Beach: he comes to you, and you learn on the instrument you’ll practice on.
  • At his studio: a soundproofed room with a vocal booth and high-end guitars and pianos, where you can record your progress.
  • Online, over Zoom or FaceTime, for the weeks you can’t be in the same room.

Music lessons for kids, from age 7

Private lessons start at age 7. Lessons can build toward something your child actually cares about: the songs they love, a school show, a performance at a family celebration, or a first recording in his studio. Live looping and recording are part of the toolkit, which beats scales.

A parent, nanny or house manager can book and schedule. You’ll get a short progress note after each lesson, and a background check is available on request.

For adults who always meant to

Never touched an instrument? Quit at twelve and want a second try? Both are welcome, at any age.

Lessons fit around a full calendar: at home, at his studio, or online when you’re traveling. You set the goal, whether that’s one song for a partner’s birthday or playing with friends by summer.

How lessons run

Lessons are weekly, an hour to two hours each. They come in packages of 4, 8 or 16 hours, and many students choose 16 up front. Need to reschedule? Give at least 24 hours’ notice; a week is even better. Traveling? Switch those weeks to Zoom or FaceTime and keep your slot.

Your first lesson is a full lesson, and he gives it extra time. Lessons focus on playing. Willy reads music and can teach notation if you want it.

Beyond the instrument: writing, recording, performing

Lessons can go further than technique: songwriting, the basics of recording, live looping and music theory, and performance coaching for the day you play in front of people.

With some private clients, lessons turn into songwriting sessions. “I’m like a muse for them,” he says. You write together, play together, and leave with something that’s yours. Ready to record it? Studio sessions.

Groups, schools and workshops

Willy runs group lessons, and hands-on music workshops for companies and events (corporate events). He also runs a music program for kids at CARE Elementary School, a tuition-free nonprofit school in Miami. Schools and organizations are welcome to ask.

Questions

Good to know

How much are music lessons in Miami?

Willy doesn’t publish lesson prices; he quotes personally. What shapes the fee: where the lessons happen (your home, his studio or online), how long each lesson is, and how often you meet. Lessons come in packages of 4, 8 or 16 hours. Ask about lessons.

Do you teach adult beginners?

Yes. He teaches beginner and intermediate students of every age, from 7 to seniors, and complete beginners are welcome.

Am I too old to learn an instrument?

No. He teaches seniors as well as adults, teens and kids. What matters is regular practice and music you care about, not the year you were born.

What age can my child start music lessons?

Private lessons start at age 7, and he teaches kids, teens, adults and seniors, in your home, at his studio or online. A parent, nanny or house manager can book and schedule. You’ll get a short progress note after each lesson, and a background check is available on request. He also runs a music program for kids at CARE Elementary School, a tuition-free nonprofit school in Miami.

Can I take music lessons online?

Yes, over Zoom or FaceTime. In person, at your home or his studio, is how he likes to teach best, but online works when you’re traveling or live outside Miami.

How long is each lesson?

An hour to two hours, usually once a week. Lessons come in packages of 4, 8 or 16 hours, and you can reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice.

What’s the first lesson like?

It’s a full, paid lesson, and he gives you extra time on it.

Do you teach in Spanish?

Lessons are taught in English. He sings in Spanish, though, so Spanish-language songs are welcome.

Can I keep my lesson slot while I travel?

Yes. Switch those weeks to Zoom or FaceTime and keep your weekly slot.
