Guitar lessons in Miami, for the song in your head.
You don’t need to love scales. You need the chords that unlock the song you keep humming, and a teacher who makes practice feel like playing. Willy B taught himself guitar around nineteen. He knows the walls you’re about to hit, and the way around them.

Playing first, notation if you want it
Lessons focus on playing. Willy reads music and can teach notation if you want it. Plenty of great guitarists play from chord charts and tabs, so reading music is your call.
Learn from a guitarist who taught himself
Willy picked up guitar around nineteen, taught himself, and finished his education on stages from Miami to New York. He knows which shortcuts work, and which ones cost you later. Read his story.
Your first guitar
You don’t need an expensive guitar. You need one that stays in tune and is easy to press down. A setup at a guitar shop, which lowers and evens out the strings, makes an inexpensive guitar far easier to play, and a clip-on tuner keeps it sounding right. Ask Willy before you buy.
Sore fingertips are normal for the first few weeks. They toughen up, and so do you.
The good news for beginners: a handful of open chords, like G, C, D and E minor, covers a surprising number of songs, so real music comes early.
In-home guitar lessons around Miami
Learning at home means learning on your own guitar, in the chair where you’ll practice, with no drive across town. He teaches in students’ homes anywhere in Miami from Key Biscayne to North Beach, at his studio, and online when you’re traveling. See how lessons run.
Beyond chords: looping, recording, writing
Want to build a one-man-band groove like his? He teaches live looping basics (see the one-man band). Want to hear yourself properly? Record at his studio. Have a song idea? Lessons can turn into co-writing. Studio sessions.

Questions
Good to know
Where can adults take guitar lessons in Miami?
With Willy B, a Miami guitar teacher who teaches students from age 7 to seniors in their homes around Miami, at his Miami studio, and online. Adult beginners are welcome.
Can my child take guitar lessons?
Yes, from age 7. A parent, nanny or house manager can book and schedule. You’ll get a short progress note after each lesson, and a background check is available on request.
Should I start on acoustic or electric guitar?
Start on the one that plays the music you love. Acoustic suits folk, country and singer-songwriter songs; electric suits blues, funk and rock. Ask Willy before you buy, and he’ll help you choose.
How long does it take to learn guitar?
Longer than a movie montage, shorter than you fear. Regular practice matters more than talent: a little every day beats a lot on Sunday. Simple songs come first, and they’re the point.
What should I practice between guitar lessons?
Short, focused sessions most days: the chord changes that trip you up, one song you love all the way through, and a few minutes of strumming along with a recording or a metronome. Fifteen good minutes beats an hour of noodling.
Can I learn to sing and play guitar at the same time?
Yes. He sings and plays at his gigs, and he can teach you to do both without losing the rhythm. Pair it with voice lessons if you want to go further.
Do I need to read music to learn guitar?
No. Most guitarists learn from chord charts and tablature, which show where to put your fingers, and plenty of great players never read standard notation. Willy reads music, and can teach it if you’d like to learn.
Should I play with a pick or with my fingers?
Both have a place. A pick gives strumming punch and speed; fingers give warmth and let you play a bass note and a melody at once. Most players learn both, starting with whichever suits the songs they love.
Is guitar harder to learn than piano?
They’re hard in different ways. Guitar asks your fingertips to toughen up and your hand to shape chords; piano lays every note out in front of you but asks each hand to do something different. Pick the one whose sound you love. Willy teaches both: see piano lessons.
Do you give in-home guitar lessons in Miami Beach or Key Biscayne?
Yes. He teaches in students’ homes anywhere in Miami from Key Biscayne to North Beach, including Miami Beach and Key Biscayne.
How much are guitar lessons in Miami?
Willy quotes lessons personally rather than publishing prices. What shapes the fee: whether he comes to your home, you come to his studio or you meet online; how long each lesson is; and how often you meet. Lessons come in packages of 4, 8 or 16 hours. Ask about guitar lessons.
